Black Hair Products For Ringworms

The Saar-Hunsrück-Steig, Germany 2010

To all my readers, I wish Merry Christmas! Maybe you rejoice, yes, if your in the midst of the crowds that the festival brings so with it, look in between a quiet little photo can. So here is my review of the year.

My highlight this year was not always pretty sure the time on the Saar-Hunsrück-Steig . Rest and walking, and make every now and then a few photos - which more could you want! The first day I had several cameras and lenses in a backpack, but then began my liberation: From the second day I only had the Olympus E-P1 with the Panasonic 20mm F1.7 pancake here, and there is no further Geraffel. Ok, it was of course a spare battery and a polarizing filter, but those are small things.

And such is created including the picture shown here. Of course, the polarizing was important to take out some reflections on the leaves so that they appear as beautiful deep green. Thus, the polarizer is to me personally about the only filter that should really have as a photographer, because its effect can be not only after the problem on the computer. If one uses the polarizing filter properly, as the sky appears deep blue and very beautiful deep green leaves. All other filters provide a maximum of annoying reflections, and especially the UV-filters are almost always completely unnecessary unless you are shooting in a neighborhood where a lot of sand or sea water flying around, which should not come directly to the front lens .

Yeah well, maybe sometimes you can use also a neutral density filter to bright sky areas not to let burn out completely when the contrast to the landscape is too large. But more than pole and neutral density filters I have really not. (Note: The next post will show a photo that has been recorded with the help of neutral density filter) And if you already purchased filter, then you should also buy your expensive high HTMC multicoated filter. That provide better contrast and less reflections on the surfaces, and for this reason, it is simply not worth to give up because of a few € on quality as camera and lens have finally cost several hundred, there should not be at the expense of image quality . save Cheap is not always very hot, and the physics can not help just to listen!

As in my previous post I should also like briefly to the Image design received: like about my photo was the lush green of the leaves, the jungle-like appearance of the whole situation, including the brown dead fern in the left part of the picture, the sprawling moss, and of course the slightly blurred motion of flowing water, so dynamic in the quiet scene brings. I have deliberately chosen a slightly wider picture, to run in the background or the setting to capture the deep forest that looks untouched and impassable. What I like however not so good, that's a bit too bright white in the water, which stings a little too much out, even if it's not really about scans and the range of contrast with reality. If I artificially had darkened and it would look more gray than white, then the image works for me would no longer apply.

And what were your pictures of the year?

Merry Christmas to everybody who is reading this! Enjoy the snowy weather and the (hopefully) quiet time with your family! See you soon on my blog.

Genitaltattoo Galerie

other art work in the snow

ride in winter, Germany 2010

in many forums and blogs are added to the time tips on what to consider it anything to do with the camera's successful snow to take pictures, such as kwerfeldein on . I'm no exception, but I want to focus a put little different. In principle, namely, not much I change my settings to the camera compared to other photo habits. Actually I only put the exposure in the snow in principle to +0.7 and let me in the live-view display the histogram in order may additionally correct the exposure. But I've found that come with the Olympus E-P1 and the Panasonic Pancake 20mm/F1.7 very good pictures when I am in the snow on the Auto ISO and just referred to +0.7 EV leave, and also in the mode "A" (aperture priority) think about what I want to have depth. Incidentally I have also been almost a year ago in a blog post wrote it. Finally, I would like to again mention the obvious: One should of course take pictures in RAW format, so after to have in Lightroom still much room as possible for the harsh contrasts of the snow.

So much for the basics. If you have made these settings so you need to actually not go on to deal with the technology and can concentrate on image composition. In the first picture above I was interested in several things:

  1. The sign of a graphic element and a blue flash of colors in the otherwise monochromatic winter landscape.
  2. The "snow cap" on the wooden pole, like a Mirror image to the cap of the rider on the sign works.
  3. The person in the background, as viewed from the horse and rider, and repeat in their clothing is blue tones that match the color of the sign.
  4. The perpendicular and parallel lines of the post, the trees and the silhouette of the person.
  5. The orange and red colors of the leaves, which also occur in only dimly visible face of the person.
  6. The opposition of the walker on the bridle path, owing to the almost featureless expanse of snow, as such, is not at all recognizable.
A first glance perhaps appearing simplistic picture that in my opinion, however, contains many elements, and these are exciting relationships. Judge for yourself whether I have succeeded to bring the points mentioned in a good picture. It is certainly not a photo, in which direct a "wow-great!" Effect, but there are also other, still images, and also you can practice well to such motives. Finally, I just want to be prepared and choose the right neck, the interesting perspective and the overall successful composition, if it should eventually arrive actually at a photo on it, and I repeat a situation not that just can not and in peace may take several photos, as I could here.

behaves similar to the second picture, what I want to introduce today. Here it is all about the graphic effect, carrying on the slightly sloping from front right to back left running shadow lines of trees. As a reference point for the viewer serve two trees, the lower ends of the top project in the picture. With these trees, one of which is even bright lit by the sun, it is clear that we are in a forest. The snow acts as a canvas, on the one hand is like a white sheet spread on the forest floor, but on the other hand, is the contrast for the black lines. After all, is also a special shadow to see, it runs in parallel with those of the trees, but it consists of two lines merge into a single, ending then just before the top of the screen. This shadow is of course a man who is a part, integrated by the parallelism of the shadow lines in the image of the forest, and yet so not fit seamlessly. Again, a really simple photo. But you ask yourself why it works. If one could take away one of the elements contained? If not, it is reduced to the essential, and that's the point in photography, right?

you can a try to analyze your own images that way. It may also help already in place, aware of several very different sections of the same scene, take, or even later by software to select very different Beschnittvarianten. Which photo works better and why? Also this gives train his eye and continue to develop photographs. If you like, you can also like a link to your photos in the post comments, then I write something to you and analyze your pictures on request. Or you send me what things you have noticed in my photos, and to what extent you agree or not my analysis. I appreciate every comment from you!

The third and final picture for today is absolutely the most unspectacular. A small green branch with minute spines, protruding from the snow. The white surface of the soil is a yellow-orange pine needles littered the back and forth above and next to each other. The dead needles symbolize decay, the white snow cold death, and the branch is in spite of its thorns for a new start, life, and spring ... That sounds very cliché, because it shakes me almost. This photo came to me now in retrospect but not so good, but I wanted to show it to you anyway, because it now runs once a photographer of life, not all images are managed in the end really, even if they may not have failed entirely. You

can learn to "read" a photograph. It helps you to capture your own vision into your pictures. Get rid of everything in the frame that does not help to say what you want to say! Keep it simple, you know.

Minimum Radius In Ho Scale

Test: A standard zoom for the PEN

from the Eifel you can see Sicily, Germany 2010

Today it should go about selecting a standard zoom for the PEN, a standard zoom lens that is, for an MFT camera. Choose from the following objectives:

  1. Panasonic Lumix G Vario 14-45mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH OIS
  2. Panasonic Lumix G Vario 14-140mm 4.0-5.8 OIS HD
  3. M. Olympus Zuiko digital ED 14-42mm 3.5-5.6
  4. Olympus Zuiko Digital
  5. M. ED 14-150mm 4.0-5.6

There is still a newer version of the lens 1 from Panasonic, this is not available separately and in addition to a pen rather impractical, as its built-in image stabilizer is not directly on the lens- or can be turned off, but only over a menu item in Panasonic cameras.

are now perhaps ask some readers, why here, such a review appears of zoom lenses, as I had in my last post here announced my "liberation", which was that I sold all photo stuff out of my PL1 and 20mm/F1.7 Pancake. But of course it has an interesting discussion developed example in a forum , and suggests offered my colleague Mark in to write a guest article, and for all those of us who from time to time but have sometimes prefer a zoom, or even an urgent need, but because of the flexibility. And so Mark describes here now its completely subjective impressions and opinions about the above-listed candidates for a standard zoom on the Olympus PEN:

----------------------- -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------

"Let's face it: most would rather have a zoom on the camera as a fixed focal length, and We also do not like to change every few minutes, the lens. So it makes sense to have a standard zoom lens in its park, where you go out with just stay up and be sure to be ready for most subjects and situations. Unfortunately, Olympus or Panasonic not so far been a fast standard zoom (at least f 2.8 would be desirable!), Which would expand the Einsatzmöglichgkeiten even further. But probably such a lens would be again too big and too heavy, and would therefore not fit the concept of Micro Four Thirds. So I have looked at me the currently available lenses that Leo has already listed above in his introduction.

Let's start with No. 3, which is often sold as a kit lens with a PEN. It is wonderfully small and light, and can even be a clever mechanism to sink into itself, so it has to transport almost pancake character. But unfortunately beninahe, and the optical quality of this plastic-wee goes so close to the Panasonic Pancake 20mm/F1.7 as the highest mountain in the Netherlands at the Mount Everest! For starters, very nice but then eliminated No. 3 lens for me personally very quickly because of a lack of focus. Zoom also No. 2 I prefer not considered, although it has an excellent reputation. My reasons: Too expensive (about 700, - €) to large (8.4 cm long been run already) and above all too heavy (470 g). use the lens at the PEN I feel but then again my times with a large / heavy / expensive DSLR recalls. So actually, only the lenses No. 1 and No. 4 left, ie, the Panasonic 14-45mm and Olympus 14-150mm. Let's look first at the raw numbers:

  • Price: Pana 240, - € ... Oly 470, - €
  • Weight: g Pana 225 ... Oly 290 g
  • diameter x length: Pana 63 x 62.5 mm ... Oly 63.5 x 83 mm
  • Aperture: Pana F3.5-5.6 ... Oly F4-5.6
  • Closest focusing distance: 30 cm Pana ... Oly 50 cm
  • Filter diameter: 52 mm Pana ... Oly 58 mm
  • Viewfinder: Optical Pana, installed ... Oly no, only through the camera
The following are my personal impressions of the two lenses, and I hope they can help you, perhaps with a decision.

are terms of weight, the two lenses about the same, that's perfectly fine and is no problem, nice and light and extremely portable. Unfortunately this is not so for the size. The Olympus 14-150mm is much longer, and not only in the retracted state, but particularly in the case zoomed out. But already it looks very noticeable and intrusive, and seems a bit less stable than many other zooms, I know. Interesting comparison photos for your design is as here at dpreview . Speaking of zoom: On my copy of the Olympus 14-150mm zoom ring was set much too hard and thus turn not pleasant. Although, that, inadvertently, the zoom moves out when it is held down, but that is another way, as shown in the Panasonic 14-45mm. This can be zoomed buttery soft and still has no zoom creep.

What about the AF speed? Both lenses in this discipline is very good, better in any case for longer than the Panasonic Pancake 20mm/F1.7, and better than the Olympus 14-42mm. Both the 14-45mm and the 14-150mm are also very low and thus also in the films practically inaudible. I have not made any scientific tests, but seems to me in a direct comparison, the 14-45mm still focus a bit faster than the 14-150mm.

Now we come to sharpness and contrast, and this should be the main arguments for many buyers. Here the Panasonic 14-45mm for me just ahead, and that at all focal lengths. I say yet that the Olympus 14-150mm for its focal range is very good, and that most of it completely should be satisfied. But the 14-45mm is just a little better. Even though my test image was not created scientifically accurate, it gives the impression again that I had when taking pictures throughout the entire zoom range with the two lenses. If your trip with your mouse over the image, you can compare them directly. (100% crops)

image stabilizer is to say that the OIS is much better than the Panasonic in-body stabilization of the Olympus E-P1. Olympus here should quickly rectify in future models PEN! The OIS provides very reliable very sharp images down to 1 / 8, sometimes even up to 1 / 4 second (quiet Hands required), whereas I had with the stability of Olympus part in the same focal lengths even at 1 / 40 or 1 / 25 second was annoying a lot of waste. Basically I agree with Leo that a body stabilizer is better because he was then without exception it has every lens and mitkaufen not always from scratch, but he must then also be good enough.

For other properties, the lenses are pretty similar, especially as distortion and sharpness in the corners at wide angle are perfectly fine. The light moves so variable at a similar level, the initial light intensity is the Panasonic but at 3.5 (as opposed to 4.0 in Olympus), but the difference is at 45mm even then, there is the Olympus 14-150mm, only the light intensity 5.4, because the diaphragm to rise with him quite early.
remains So what remains as the bottom line? Who wants to have everything in one, that is, who would also have the telephoto zoom range is covered with, must have access to the Olympus 14-150mm. Who (like me personally) not so much in Telebreich photographed and would also have the better image sharpness that takes the Panasonic 14-45mm. So that we get then next to the much more effective image stabilizer, a stable, compact and lightweight lens at a much lower price. As a last little thing to mention, that using the Panasonic gets kindly supplied a bag and the hood, however, nothing in the Olympus, so you may need to buy even the Geli additionally!

the way, the photos were taken in this article with a combination of PEN E-P1 and Panasonic 14-45mm.
That was my (admittedly not very scientific) test of the standard zoom lens for MFT wichtigstens cameras. I hope it helps you in the buying decision! Thanks again to Leo for the publication of my guest article. "

--------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- --------------

It's always nice to have a second opinion. Even if it's not exactly what I think about this topic. Stay tuned for more interesting thoughts about photography and more pictures and stories. Thank you all for reading my blog. I'd love to hear from you in the comments!

Example Of Debut Program

pickings at Photokina!

Better Late again, Germany 2010

No, I took this photo made into a museum. It was a board room where I stayed during a multi-day hike. And the other photos in this post are just out of this room or the immediate vicinity of the house. What does this have to do with the Photokina? Well, to put it straight to the point: In my opinion, it is hardly interesting news in the wide world of photography, which is worth it to report.

Well, maybe there were some new cameras with a few nice new features, HDR and 3D have meant, the latest "trends", but I am not convinced everything. The new lenses of some SLR manufacturers are quite nice, but something truly revolutionary is not there. Sure, a few new cameras with new sensors, but those were probably all just a few "Hüpferchen", and truly no quantum leaps.

What counts, which are ultimately still have the photos, and are according to me the if you please not too much Software will be rotated and pimped artificial. Sure, now I hear you say again all "Each photograph is still rigged, but was formerly with the analog film development even so, you can not make even a picture, without being flow into his own view of things!" This is certainly true, but that does still not mean that everything is allowed, and that it should not even try, what you see as truly capture it on a photo.

why I advocate that we now distinguish between "photography" and "Pixel Design". For me photography in the digital age is this: I'm doing with a camera Image without distortions or "enhancement algorithms", passe, perhaps via software on the computer in the RAW converter, the exposure, contrast and colors so that they correspond to my perception, and, finally, the photo paper. THE ONE FOR ME is photography. We are living in concrete and eventually need things to touch, and not just "virtual reality". This virtual reality, particularly the Internet, has its right to exist, but you should things not to overestimate. Much of it is very volatile, quickly created and deleted, not very reliable. inserted in a printed photo or a real conversation over a photographic topic more substance than in almost all Internet fora. Let us ask ourselves yet again: What is really the essence of photography? Can we not give up nearly all the gimmicks on the new cameras? Let's make it really better photos? Does it really have more fun, more and more buttons and functions? In the short term perhaps, but in the long run?

Why am I writing all this here in the Internet, which I've just so damn? It's simple: Here I get to maybe some of you who do not run behind the herd of the art lovers. Well, actually I belong a little bit about these high-tech junkies, but I'm trying to get rid of the addiction, because I realize the me, the photographs did not move forward.

What has brought me photographs lately a step forward: I sold all the equipment, without exception, all except a camera and a lens. Only the Olympus E-P1 and the Panasonic 20mm F1.7 Pancake keep I have. What a relief! No more back and forth with the lenses and the cameras! Absolutely Minmal towed, a camera backpack is obsolete with it! At last I can fully concentrate on taking pictures! And the technical quality of the images is flawless, so I have a clear head for the conscious design of my photos. Maintenance, of course I know so that I can not make ALL the images. Who is confined in the limited equipment, and the photographic opportunities. But in the voluntary conscious restriction is precisely the key is to become an area on its own and there to become better. I'd rather be in a small area well and happy there, as I try in vain to everywhere and in every situation and make a great photo. Photography means learning how to learn, see and sometimes I look around and enjoy just in the area, enjoy the atmosphere and make a photograph. Please understand

not wrong, who like photographing wildlife, which must of course, the right tool have, in the case, a good telephoto lens, etc. I had last year in Namibia. But many photographers as I make also pictures of landscapes, people, everyday situations, and what you need there from the beginning to multiple lenses? But well, I hear first on ... I think it has become clear what I meant, right?

Says Do not: "Yeah, that's just the normal phase, each photographer takes sometime around only with a fixed focal length and considers himself Cartier-Bresson or who knows who's passing, let's do it again. " So simple is not. Give it a try, then you know what I mean.

What we lack, then, I have not seen at Photokina? I would personally like to have a camera with a larger chip and Four-Thirds so that I can with less depth of field and even greater wealth of detail make photos. Here I would then take a bright F1.4 fixed focal length with the focal length range between 35 and 50 mm. Is there already? Yeah, long time, only a few serious errors! I take time directly with the so-called full-frame 24x36mm sensors in the format, because the APS-C format is much better than Four Thirds. The conventional SLR cameras with full frame sensors are simply far too big and too heavy! And the Leica M9 is far too expensive and has no autofocus! Instead of producing any new gimmicks and lenses and 3D and knick-knacks, I believe should be the manufacturer even accept a real challenge: a system with full-frame camera and matching lenses, the whole is as small and handy, also significantly less than a kilogram weight (camera plus lens), which is simple to use and well and, of course not too expensive.

all impossible, quixotic reverie? No, definitely not! Manufacturers have to do just ... There are steps in the right direction: The Fujifilm FinePix X100 . But unfortunately it does have the only APS-C sensor and not a bayonet. But after all the other Data can sit up! Check them out at times, in my opinion the only interesting new feature on the Photokina. I hope this camera is it soon to buy. Well, until then I keep my PEN PL1 and dream that the camera manufacturers to wake up, and not only have a single short-sighted strategy, the mass market with Bluetooth GPS-3D-wireless-HDR Beamer Two display Klickibunti cameras to supersaturation.

Congratulations! You've read this long post and finally made it to the end. Now shut down your computer, take your camera and take photos! But always remember: Keep it simple!

What Motorcycle Should I Use On My Go Kart

Krefeld and

The last race in Krefeld is indeed now a bit ago. The closing ceremony of the 2nd Bundesliga was played as a team sprint, the sprint distance. We did that day with 14th place tie in the daily standings not to the results of the last race.
My swim went really bad and I'm pretty much at the end of the field rose from the water, we lost our fifth man on the first turning point in the fray. The run felt really on quite well, but we did not manage to still make some good. Well, was a bit of a shame, especially as we are with the results still slipped from number 7 to 9 in the table.
for me to weigh at the end of this league season, but the positive feelings, with the individual rankings of Grimma Schwerin and I finally can make a sensible step forward. Actually
was then again three weeks preparing for the DM at the Schliersee on the plan, but I've thrown this plan after only one week of the pile and ended my season. This decision, however, I do not like from now on the same. I have noticed in recent weeks more and more that, especially in swimming was broken a lot and since I have a good season for me did not want to end up with a bad result, I have just two weeks earlier pressed the pause button ...;- )
Right now I'm more than happy with this decision, because the weather in recent weeks has been anything but late summer and hence are not invited to more of a workout. The weather forecast for the competition Schliersee looks at 14 ° C water temperature, 8-10 ° C air temperature and rain also pretty bad ...
Well, as I said, this year was a success for me, because especially in swimming, I could improve myself and I think it also results in the good results this year. Above all, I am proud that I could make this season even as good, although my preparation was so miserable.
Now it is a few weeks but for now put your legs and relax. From mid-October will then release the serious training to learn the basics for a successful 2011 season as similar as possible to create.
Until then I remain a happy
Cheers ...

The holiday season is for most of us over, and re-entry in my blog today there is a good news: My photo of the hikers on the glacier in Norway, the "travel photography daily contest" won ! If you click on this link , you will go directly to that page on http://www.photoburst.net/ .

Furthermore I am very happy, because if you look around the photo to burst, one can see a lot of very very good photos from around the world and gifted photographer. For me, the publication of my photos in this context, a great honor. Check out the website once on, there are wonderful portraits and landscapes that inspire me again and again!

A bit refers to the background of my winning photos your way in an older blog post where I have already shown a different picture from the same series. And I also hope that I forgive my readers who may have come because of my tests and reports on Olympus cameras on this page, because even with a Nikon D80 can take beautiful photos, as you can see here ;-)

Yes, I'm happy about seeing my photo posted as a winner on the photo burst webpage! I'm inspired by a lot of pictures on my photo photoburst.net and perhaps can inspire others to take beautiful pictures and to respect the glaciers and fight global warming. If anybody else wants to give an award to one of my photos, please do not hesitate to contact me ...

Blobs During A Period

end of the season ranked 11th in the "Wämper International Triathlon

I had been afraid that the race could last weekend in Luxembourg Weiswampach be exhausting. Such a tough race but I had not expected. But from the beginning ...

I made before the race, the hope that I would get while swimming may be a fast group and could rise accordingly far forward from the water. For this reason, I ordered myself at the start relatively far to the right. So that was my thought at least I could losschwimmen without stress, would the 165-strong field going, and would have caught a pair of fast feet. Well, that was in shape but sometimes something does not work out from all ... Launch, next really took off and before I came anywhere near that group, I had the residue 15m despite all efforts I could not close. Still, I could climb
at position 13 from the water and jump on my bike. The next 40km were running but not at all as planned. Somehow my legs did not quite and I had trouble holding on to the four times for driving 10km round the back wheels of my front men. It was really annoying, mainly because the 600 meters very hilly and winding bike course I was especially happy. Especially at the beginning of each round moving to increase with a slope of up to 18% gave me to create real and pulled me around the other Time the tooth ...;-)
The final run began quite tough and very wavy, over forest and meadow trails running route did the rest. Thank God then went between km 4 and 5 on the node and finally I was able to catch up before I placed people.

with 11th place but I am very pleased, especially since just gone too far not optimal. The swim start was just bad luck and the wheel-running performance and suggest that I just have a little break from training the last weeks was. The competition was a wonderful experience, everything was well organized and organizers and volunteers were friendly and relaxed when you're fit, then the track is top ...;-) I'm going to meet the deadline for next year times precaution free ... Now it is
until the weekend put your feet up and let the training contribute to the final race for the 2nd Bundesliga in Krefeld to get fit.

Cheers ...

Jelly Bracele Meanings 2010

Let's go to Luxembourg ...

After the rather successful first half of the season, I have in the two weeks of training in Schwerin significantly relieved and I relaxed with my family at the Baltic beach. So I was able to recover very well and gain new motivation for the last races of the season.
With the last race for second Bundesliga at 29.8. in Krefeld, there is a team sprint, in which our good results in Grimsby Schwerin and confirm and defend our place in the table do, and the German Cup on 18.9. at Schliersee still absolute highlights are on the program.
For three weeks I am now back in training and had to swallow properly collect properly again kilometers, that was really hard ...;-)

This weekend I get the "Wämper International Triathlon" in the Luxembourg Weiswampach back into the competition scene. The race is over 1.5 km swim, 40 km cycling quite mountainous and a final 10km run. The starting field of 165 participants from France, Belgium, Luxembourg, England, Czech Republic and Germany filled to the brim, and promises a high Power density. Even if I get used to the competition-free one and a half months and the high training volume in recent weeks to the race again until a gear, I certainly hope that I can reasonably sell ... I strictly
me could possibly do hurt ...;-)

In this sense,
Cheers

Funky Shower Curtains

Action: A Gift for Your Best Shot!

At the campsite in Jasper, Canada 2006

So, now I've actually already extended the survey ended right at the top of the page again. I would like to ask once all to participate! Thank you. At the same today launched a special campaign for the readers of my blog, when you can get a little gift from me. But for later in this post more information ...

, I would like to present you one of my favorite pictures from Canada. It was created at that time with my beloved Nikon D70 and the Super Zoom Nikkor 18-200mm VR. We sat in the evening before our motor home, when suddenly some deer grazed within a few meters past us on the sprawling campsite. Of course, I immediately grabbed my camera and followed them carefully and in a reasonable distance. However, I was also a photo in mind that I wanted to do like: A single deer, which looks at the viewer directly, and the wonderfully contrasting stands out with his red coat against the deep green of the forest. But I had to catch up, at least to be level with the animals, actually I had to even get to position myself with my camera suitable.

This was me after a chase of about 10 minutes. As I ran, I set the camera to reasonably appropriate values to get my wishful thinking: It had obviously once again be open screen (unfortunately only 5.6 In 200mm), and I need 1100 ISO to a shutter speed of 1 / 125 seconds to come, is insufficient when the image stabilizer to obtain a clear image. One of the deer stood still for a moment I sat down in the grass and took aim, as the animal looked short to me, and I could make my photo. He then ran immediately, and the group disappeared deep in the denser forest, where a second image was possible. I look forward to this day that I took the opportunity while I had so much luck. And by the way: Does anyone of you here noise at ISO 1100? Or is interested in such a photo at all? Also in view of the large-format prints of this picture I can not really claim that the noise plays a role! For me, a good example to the people not to go into the trap of looking for a magnifying glass to the last grain, and thinking that without super expensive cameras or even full size, one could make no useful photos.

Without the quick access to camera with a super zoom I would not get this photo. I had not had time to change until long lenses. I do not know if I use a large and heavy telephoto ever so quickly would have to follow the animal without scaring it. That said, I would of course have the money for the trip had not even if I had all spent on expensive lenses ... And instinctively I anticipated with my simple equipment for the right moment. Because I had crouched me, I have a much more interesting perspective on the animal's eye level captured, and the blurred grass in the foreground contributes to the depth of the image. At first I thought the individual blades of grass, which cut across in front of the deer bother, but would on the one hand I want to retouch in any case because they were now once there (my opinion about Photoshop arts you can read here ), and other hand, also support these blades of grass, the natural effect of the candid shot. Overall, this photo is a small reward and an incentive for me if I am once again annoyed that so many other situations in all planning and patience have been of no use, and emerged again in spite of all good preparation for a usable photo is. I would like that is not create the false impression that I long nose all manage to make good pictures (even if the rate increases slowly with time). Patience, practice and perseverance are very important tools, but a photographer. Do not believe the advertising of the camera companies, which promise you that will judge the right equipment but it already!

This brings us finally to today's action, and to my gift to you what I had already promised in the last post. And although I give away a poster of one of my photos, which I have shown in this blog already, you can find it in this previous post . Free Gay Masterbation Games

second Bundesliga Schwerin

So, the fourth league match is over and has been for both our team and for me a success. But first things first ...
The race took place right in the city of Schwerin, there were 750m swim in the castle lake, 20km run on a 2.5 km lap and then ran 5km.
According to our good results from last week was everyone on the team optimistic and willing to show a similarly good performance.
The swim was very difficult, because the starting field did not really pull apart and I found myself up to the first turn at 400 meters in a group from the "there was no escape." Thank God, did but then a gap and I was able to exit a little swim forward. Thanks to a very rapid change and the wheel pressure of my team-mate Flo, who was swimming in my water, shade, we still managed to jump into the wheel group located in front of us.

Once there was equal power down the pace and organizes the Nachführarbeit, as the leading groups were not far ahead of us. Despite a slightly different inflection point at which the field in each round, almost completely to a halt after the odometer showed the 20km at an average of nearly 42km / h. It was also up to the second wheel group aufzufahren and go to 45 seconds behind 1st place to work. Here, too, I managed another good change, and so I could go well positioned on the final 5km. But then I have been brought vividly why this kind of competition is sprint distance. We ran off so fast that I have half a mile total was at the limit. I was at this time in a 5-man group and that I tried to keep it under all circumstances, but I just before the turning point "Let rip" at the halfway stage and had a weakness. Shortly before the end came for me, unfortunately, still a runner, and I could no longer set against it, so I came at the end of 31st place finish.

The rankings 2 for Eike, 28 for Andi, 30 for Flo and 31 we were in the team standings on the 4th Place to reach, thus confirming both our individual placement and the team placement of last week. Even though I have to get my target as the top 30 missed by one place, I am very satisfied with this match, because I was already half a swim and while running one minute faster than last year. Moreover, and this summary, I can after the last individual race in the 2nd pull Liga 2010 on, the places represent 29 and 31, a significant improvement compared to places 45-60 in previous years.

are now first 2 weeks off on the plan and the training is only for conservation and recovery after the first half of the season. As of August is then returned to hard training, for the upcoming highlights with the team sprint for second League in late August in Krefeld and then of course the German Cup on Schliersee must be properly prepared. Finally, I would like to show there again was ...

I wish you a sunny and warm summer,
Cheers ...

Save The Date Birthday Examples

Hot Dance in Grimsby ...;-)

Last weekend I was back for PSV in the 2nd Bonn Bundesliga in use. It was a contest over the short distance, ie 1.5 km swimming, 40km cycling and 10km running. After the preparation has gone very well in recent weeks, I was very optimistic and wanted to show a good race. The external conditions were the high temperatures and very hard when you start to 13h, it was already well above 30 degrees.

My goal for the competition was first in the swimming tear finally something and the tips that had given me my training colleagues Guido and Ali to implement. That meant "Volle Kanne" to the first turn and then under all circumstances Keep feet of the front man has ...;-) worked out quite well and I was able to rise to 40th place from the water.

Cycling proved to be very hard. I was in a 10-strong chasing group and thanks to a unrhythmic while, but speedy driving, we could reduce our backlog, and came with just over a minute behind in the second transition area.

Running I am approached very cautiously, because the risk at the temperatures to coat and then break it is very large. Regardless, I will start to improve my position by position. The last two miles were really hard but then again, and I still am fairly received. Thank God I made it to the finish without me again someone has been obtained.

I was then already clear that this race but a whole class was better than my previous starts in the second League, but when I told my team leader then that I 29th I become, I was very pleased. My previous best ranking was number 41 and the top 30 were still quite a distance ...

In the team rankings, we were on that day with the individual rankings 1 (Eike), 22 (Andi), 29 and 42 (Flo) even third of what it is by the way the team's best result since a long time.

With this good result in the back I go tomorrow for a relaxed to Schwerin. There, on Sunday, the fourth round of the second Bundesliga instead of a sprint distance and I would like to repeat my result from last weekend but happy ...:-)

In this sense, a great weekend and a happy

Cheers ...

Example Letter To Priest For Marriage

survey: factors for a good photo?

The decisive moment, Costa Rica 2007

Update: The results of this survey are now stocked this post!

In the new poll, which has been running for a short time, I would like to ask you: What do you personally for the most important factors for a good photo? Is it more likely the technology and equipment, or it is what "look into" photographer or viewer into the picture? Can you even plan good photos? And what your respects because if makes your photos? In my opinion, it is worthwhile that we will cover, especially since for most of us soon pending a summer in which many images are produced.

two things that can definitely be also important factors that I have in my answers to the survey deliberately excluded: 1 The random and 2 The electronic image processing. Chance or luck play a role that is very often, not everything can be . Plan On the other hand, we do it we surely do not as easily say that we want to be photographers only arrive at the chance! That would be my opinion much too simple. Although I am pleased, if I unexpectedly by pure luck getting a good photo, but my goal is always to not be dependent, but to make aware of my pictures, and analyze why a particular photo "works" or just not. The second point, the electronic image processing on the computer, I have as a factor for a good photo is not included because I believe too much in image processing, "photo" no longer can speak. This I have already detail in a previous post discussed. I am talking in my survey of real photos and not by "digital art", in which case "art" to mean "artificial" with ... But just so we do not get me wrong: If a photo was taken digitally, is quite legitimately add a matching process, but in my opinion, this should be limited to a few essential elements, such as crop the image slightly to correct the white balance, contrast and Levels adjust fine sharpening etc.

Is that headline picture of this post a good photo? "Decisive Moment" is of course borrowed from the famous French photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson that this Concept has greatly influenced. For him, just the crucial moment to be taken in many photos, otherwise the essence of the situation could not be detected or dargstellt. I have tried this on my trip to Costa Rica in 2007 when I sat with my Nikon D70s in a rocking boat. We spent the whole day geschippert through the maze of canals of Tortuguero and had sweated without end. The climate is really difficult for a Central European bearable 30 degrees Celsius in the shade, but still 95% humidity. The rain forest has requested a certain capacity for suffering! We only know from the tropical greenhouse. Well, that all the equipment mastered without defect. At some point in the evening we had our boat to sound out leaders in the treetops to "spider monkeys" (German name: spider monkeys) are needed to jump from tree crown to tree crown, and so the cross channels.

course we asked him immediately to position the boat so that we can get a look at this spectacle. This turned out to be, of course, not quite so simple, but finally he made it, when in fact a family of several monkeys successively moved across the channel on which we were passing. I had at the first sounds already tried to set my camera fits: I take pictures almost always aperture priority (ie, automatic time calculation by the camera), so I went to open aperture and ISO 800, to obtain a very fast shutter speed, and thus avoid camera shake by the boat and blurred by the movement of the monkey. Looking through the viewfinder was found that the camera is calculated when targeting the sky and the treetops times by 1 / 1000 second. That should be enough, I thought, and wanted to add a little extra exposure compensation (+2 / 3 stop maybe), because I was against the clear sky photographed and the cameras underexpose then usually because they are designed to expose all neutral gray. But it was too late for other settings, The monkeys jumped one went after the other, I made fast about 10 photos, which showed less than half a monkey at all, so quickly! Among the other images two useful and this one shown here, in my opinion were for the best. In the post I did have to brighten somewhat in the shadows, I have cut away a bit uninteresting margin, adjusted the colors and sharpened.

'm sure, I'm proud of this photo, but in my mind's eye I an even better: In this vision we see in isolation the monkeys completely from the green branches freely fly in the blue sky, and the branches extend only a little bit right and next to Image to provide the framework for the flight. But for this moment my camera was too slow, maybe I could repeat it with a super-fast modern SLR camera. On the other hand, it is difficult, so to duplicate a photo, our boat guide said at the time, just at the right time at right place to be to nice to shoot at the monkeys in the blue sky would not be repeated, we would have had very good luck .

Ah yes, here is the evaluation of the previous survey . I marvel not mean that the DMC-PL1 is clear in the first place, finally have probably just the readers of my reviews of the PL1 they either bought directly, or some new owners have ended their search for tips and tricks to her new camera at my side. The Panasonic GF1 is safe for a similar reason in second place landed there first, I had also tested (GF1) , and secondly because it was already available rather simple, and many photographers who are interested in a small portable solution had had direct access. The other PENs have no built-in flash, so many had rather wait and the other cameras from Panasonic are either too new or have not built through the viewfinder and the resulting greater design found so much encouragement.

Anyway, I had already announced that I am now increasingly wants to deal with the photos and less with the equipment. And I want you too, dear invite readers! Most of you have undoubtedly the right equipment for the summer together, so let us now look how good photos look like and how they come about. Write me your views in the comments and take part in the survey! You tell me you can also welcomes any suggestions and wishes, what you see next and want to read. Gladly you can also find a link to your favorite photo in the post comments, or a link to a photo, what for you constitutes a good photo where you say: "Wow, it just works!" In addition, I promise you now that in the next few days, a surprise waiting for you, I will provide one gift for you, You may be curious ...

Stay tuned for an exciting surprise! It's all about photos, you know. See you soon on this blog!

How Long Does Roboxin Stay In Your Urine

second

Ah, the last entry is already back forever, but that I have made to Saalfeld no message was not so much to me as more of the perils of technology. My PC had somehow tired and asked me anything you nothing to work a. Well, then just now ...

After two years I have not started in Saalfeld was, I was still very happy that it fit this year again and motivation for, i also went to the start. It will not embarrass himself at their home race so ...;-)

It started quite well: In the first swimming meters I could swim very well behind my training colleagues Hubert, in his capacity Austrian Ironman pro,. Unfortunately that was not good and after about 400m long, I'm ready to burst and from then on was traveling alone.

20.45min I'm after a second climbed from the pool. When I was then reported shortly after the change that I have 30 seconds behind him and Hubert was on the main road in sight, because it stayed in my head somehow . I have therefore thought it would be a very nice story, yes, if I was the first turning point at Hubert and would have an orientation for the 40 km cycling. So I set off full pot and using pretty much all their might. I had with the bill containing just forgot that most long-distance runners may very well just ride a bike and when I had to find the turning point that my behind was not just become less because it was just too late. The bill I was then 20 kilometers later, because in the last three laps to go I do have really nice park, and was then quite happy to me from my persecutors no one has been obtained.

Running was then just a formality. Hubert was out of reach from behind and was safe anymore, so I could tackle the final 10km relatively relaxed and there no longer had to go to my limits. That is come with 34min on the run course still quite heavy, the second term out, makes me confident for the next race.
is the end, so a 2nd Place and a good mileage to book. About my swimming but I was really annoyed because it was not that day really. I had actually made a time under 20 minutes and fully credited, but that this time should not be.
Then it was announced again two weeks hard training for me for two races to 2nd Bundesliga in Grimsby and Schwerin to get fit. That was also quite successful, at least by my level of exhaustion, on the last Sunday - the last debit day - but then I was really nicely finished and ready for a little relaxation. The rest I also enjoy just and the weather is just what you need. Since the units make loose in the outdoor pool, on the bike and while running it is even more fun.

In this sense I wish a sunny week and remain until the next (timely ;-)) feedback with a happy

Cheers ...
Almost forgot: Many thanks for the many good pictures of my club mates Tobias ...

My Cervical Mucus Is Never Clear

Test: Olympus E-P1 (Part 3) What is still not

white on colorful, Germany 2010

Today I finish my test report from the Olympus E-P1. (The first part can be found in the archive at May 2010:. Part 1, Part 1a , Part 2) In this final part of the review should there be a little comparison between the PL1 and Panasonic GF1. When the PL1 was just announced, I had in a previous post already discussed whether to buy the PL1, if perhaps the GF1 Panasonic already has. Here, I compared the essential technical characteristics of PL1 and GF1 together, and I will recommend there be read again, the previous post then rounds off the picture with this, because what I've written there, in my view still applies. It is interesting to me, from today's perspective, that my forecast of the street price of PL1 is found to be incorrect.

Those who are externals interested, will quickly find that the GF1 looks much more elegant and chic as the PEN E-PL1. This, though, not to say that the PL1 is poorly designed, no, it is only a bit more moderately plastic and has not so subtle curves as the GF1. This point is clearly to the Panasonic camera.

But we will of course not alone in outward appearance, but our interest is rather to the intrinsic values, and here the PL1 really shine and earn points towards the GF1. Although I myself always taking pictures in RAW, but many of you are interssieren for JPG output of cameras, some queries have shown. Some readers have asked me, time to make a direct comparison, and I put you on here. The image details are 100% original size in each case from a JPG directly cut out from the camera and Photoshop Elements only assembled, labeled and even saved as JPG in the highest quality. In this case, all three cameras involved in each case on default settings, which relates to noise reduction, sharpening, and gradation. In each camera, the finest resolution JPG was used, and all photographs were taken with the same lens, the Olympus Pancake 25mm/F2.8 for FT, which was obviously connected with the MFT cameras with MMF-1 adapter.

Comparison of JPG images from Olympus E-P1, Panasonic GF1 and Olympus E-620

What me during the test shots struck first, was the fact that the GF1 was not quite as exposure, such as PL1 and the E-620, for the GF1 tended underexpose the scene. Also, the automatic white balance was not quite as good as the Olympus cameras, can also be seen still a slight magenta cast with the GF1 images, clearly visible in the shine of the body blue leather surface of the ball. As a second

necessarily have to say in defense of GF1 that the difference is not as PL1 great if you take the files as RAW, and as developed in Lightroom. But then an advantage is for PL1. I find it amazing what tickles Olympus out of this sensor, because supposedly it is indeed basically the same or a very very similar in all three chip cameras. If one considers only the JPGs, you can almost come to the conclusion that the PL1 little more noisy at ISO 1600 than the GF1 and the I-620 at 800th ISO One must also consider that this is not at the expense of the details go, the photos of the PL1 Even at high ISO numbers their fine detail, the small structures are not smoothed out, only to suppress the noise! Also in the ISO 1600 image (and even at ISO 3200) can see the hairline cracks in the leather of the red area at the PL1 yet, while this Structure in the other two cameras at lower ISO speeds threatens to disappear.

Of course these are not scientifically accurate shots, but enough for a practical comparison there. The pictures are better directly from the camera of course a bit, since swallowed the lossy JPEG compression when saving a bit of image quality, and this was indeed saved after joining in Photoshop again. So please do not make the mistake of comparing these sections with 100% Crops from other cameras, which were taken at different light and with other lenses and other motifs, and then output directly from the camera. Moreover, one can in any Setting up the camera now so many parameters that influence the image quality (in particular detail reproduction, contrast and Rasuchen) that such comparisons are always problematic. And I would note also again that I have the discussions about the noise actually find quite exaggerated. The reasons are listed quickly: For a good photo usually completely different things important than the noise, and provided further that if any eventual grain visible only in the impractical 100% view or meter-high poster enlargements. So please do not overstate this comparison! Some have asked why I made the comparison image.

basic rule is that the Panasonic is not a bad camera GF1. But in some areas, the PL1 is personal for me, but just a tad bit better. Besides the basic technical issues such as the Olympus in-camera image stabilization and better compatibility with all my Olympus FT lenses, it is next to the lower Rasuchen especially the beautiful crisp basic focus of the PL1 photos that I am always impressed, especially with the Panasonic Pancake 20mm/F1.7! It has paid off, that Olympus has built in a thinner PL1 anti-aliasing filter. Olympus now has only beautiful small, sharp and bright fixed focal lengths for his PENs build, then we could be almost perfectly happy ...

Finally, little things that have struck me: If you shoot in very low light starts at the Panasonic GF1 the image on the display to stutter in (probably because then the shutter speed to be increased). This is the Olympus E-P1 is not watching, here is the refresh rate of liquid, which in practice makes the photographing of course enjoyable. In addition, there is now for the GF1 a "firmware hack" , which they allege the video recording quality of the GF1 improve dramatically, I could not try because the GF1 is sold. Is annoying in any case with two cameras that will be spent in the work state is a very "lubricating" the video image, which is especially for pans and fast movement does not look very nice. Here, manufacturers should make improvements, and not the individual images inside the camera "somehow" set off, but install a real choice for 24/25/30 frames per second.

is often discussed in the internet with the speed of the autofocus of the MFT cameras. After the firmware update for the Olympus E-P1 this is my impression (I have not exactly measured it) is completely on par with the Panasonic GF1. In practice, I have not experienced any significant difference. Only the AF speed with adapted the FT lenses could of course be higher, but for me he is adequate in most situations quickly, and main thing is, the AF is accurate and generally available. This is namely the Panasonic GF1 FT with adapted lenses by far not always so, see this list of Panasonic .

It will be interesting to see what the next step Olympus is making in the camera market that new body in the FT and MFT-zone appears and the new lenses. But before this happens (maybe in the fall to Photokina ?), We will really put us here in the future with more of a shot and the actual photos apart. Less technology, more pictures! Nevertheless, You may of course be happy to further questions and express your opinion, please use the comment function.

I've showed the high ISO comparison because you asked. Now forget about ISO noise, it's not as important as you think it is! Just take photos and enjoy.

Fun Sayings For Track Shirts

Lightroom

The view to the horizon, Germany 2010

As of today, so now the new version of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom available. You can buy them on the side of Adobe for just under 300 €, the update from earlier versions cost 100 €. I've written many times that I very Lightroom like to use, and I've also here and here already presented my Lightroom presets for the Panasonic GF1 and Olympus. But unfortunately, the latest version of Lightroom 3.0 is still not a very important step in the workflow: the so-called "soft proof".

With Soft Proof is a simulation meant that on the screen shows approximately how an image will be printed later appear on paper. This requires the appropriate software can take into account the profile of the calibrated printer, and accordingly simulate the paper color. This last step before printing it possible, in accordance with the expected playback of a specific printer, the Contrast and color to optimize the photo. So you then had the best control over the subsequent paper image, which saves a lot of time, money and stress, because with the help of such soft proofs can be awkward test prints on a "trial and error to avoid.

Well, most people just assume either that which brings her printer so and are content, or send their photos to the photo service, where they are then adjusted by an automatic and usually printed very neatly. But just like the pictures of my today's blog posts are often not at all out good because it is highly saturated colors (here, blue and green) and gradients There, and in addition the diffenrenzierten shades of the clouds. Here most of the printers default settings do not bring the optimal contrast ratio or created an ugly color cast. To avoid this, provide some good photo services, the possibility of a color profile of the machines used there to download to see it even by soft proofing can be as the result of the printed image is before you made the order. Very useful especially for expensive large-format printing!

prerequisite for such treatment and assessment by soft proofing is of course that you have color management under control, and the workflow is correct. In practice this means that the monitor be profiled must be what I do with the colorimeter Quato iColor Display (Silver Haze Pro) . Otherwise, the screen displays that is not the real colors of the photo, and it fits in its processing steps of the image so that it good only on this one monitor looks! Most manufacturers give their screens with strange preferences, and also changes the color reproduction and luminance of a monitor with increasing age, so one has to distinguish even again and again. In addition, all participating master color management software, that can take into account the monitor profile. Maybe I'll do well again in the future, a blog post that my complete color management clarified, let's see. Until then, you, the Internet offers more than enough reading material, if you are looking for the right keywords.

Well, in many cases it's enough though, even without a soft proof "somehow" to print his pictures or have it exposed at present, but how do I help me if I do then it would make in a workflow with color management in Lightroom out a soft proof? The first possibility is, of course, to buy the "big" Photoshop CS, which sometimes just silly 1000, - € costs (or at least a student version also 200, - €). The other option (and my personal alternative) is an existing Photoshop Elements by a utility-enable soft proofing. PS Elements may indeed appear to be from home, no soft proof, but the functions to be only "hidden" because the element also uses routines from the big brother CS. a software called "Elements +" , which only costs $ 12 (equivalent to about 14 € including VAT) will turn next to the soft proof and free of other nice features of Photoshop CS in Elements, such as when working with curves, layers, masks, smart objects, scripts, etc.

This is my workflow when it comes to soft proof: I open from Lightroom a copy of the photos in my old version 4.0 of Photoshop Elements (Free addition to any camera or something), then run with the help of the element plus additional function of the soft proof, I have set up according to my printer profile and Compensation and simulation of the paper color. I leave the preview of the soft proof view and change with color and contrast corrections, the photo so that the proof looks good, ie that the image will be so out of the printer is the way I want it to be. Depending on the printer can be quite extensive adjustments, for such a printer usually has a completely different color space than my screen, that is, especially with highly saturated colors, most printer problems. Ah yes, the color profiles for my printer to create I am the way, with a colorimeter "Datacolor Spyder Print" .

Conclusion: Too bad the new version of Lightroom is still dominated no soft proofing. Then I could in fact really just about anything to get it over to Lightroom without having to first open another program in addition to complicated.

That reminds me of yet: Take part but please be at the current survey of MFT cameras, if you have not already done it. It only runs until tomorrow at 23:55 clock! Do you know why

the guys at Adobe have not yet built in soft-proofing into Lightroom? Colour management can be a hassle, but it's a must-have when you want to have real control over your prints.

Why Doesnt My Camera Work On Oovoo

second place in Saalfeld Bundesliga Witten

The first League match is now history. And it was so lala ... About the Super Sprint on the morning we should have better cover the cloak of silence. There really was nothing together. went to 17th place in the race I'm the first 150m was only gasping on the road. The water in the portable pool was really really bad cold. On the way to the transition area I've already got stitches and then the first change has only been missing that I set my socks and dress. On the bike it was not so outstanding, and then the final 1.4 km run I have done the stitch life really hard. Bottom line: 82nd place Well, what can one say? Could have been worse, there were 89 people at the start so ...:- D Since it with my teammates even ran as non-bang-up - I would specifically exclude the Andi, who was traveling as a moped - at the end was the 15th Place among 18 teams to book. The starting point for the team pursuit in the afternoon was therefore not so rosy. But we have let the humor and are fully motivated to go though already far behind in the race. This time it went for me personally when Swimming again much better than in the morning and the guys from my team, it seemed like to go, because we have been able to catch up when swimming the gap of 25 seconds on the team before us and overtake them if they switch. On the bike we were also really fast on the road. As I said on that day Andy had much in common with a motorbike and drove almost everything associated with train on the chain from the front ... Running unfortunately had to Benni, who was on the bike had problems with cramps, just get in exchange. So now all had to, because time is the fourth man counted. Unfortunately, Manu got to start doing some cramping. He has shown a very strong race and bitten through. We were also in the running again very quickly and could almost catch the team from Weimar, who went with a minute ahead of us in the race. That was 10 seconds too much ...;-) was the end, so 13th place in the results, but with the 7th Time of all teams.
As I said in the morning Was it a debacle. In the afternoon, then it was really good, both for me and for the team. Placement was standard but not much more to make.
Our girls were able to win the rest. Heidi won the individual race and with the seats 6, 9 and 13, the girls could go even as a leader in the pursuit. There they could lead even the already high . Enlarge

I'm looking forward to the next league fixtures, but now is at the first triathlon in Saalfeld. And because so held directly outside my front door I've made a lot of course ...

In this sense,
Cheers

3, advice on buying a camera

photographers on Nigardsbreen, Norway 2008

In recent days, I repeatedly asked: "What camera should I buy only model with the features X 1, 2 and 3, or rather device Y with the features 4, 5 and 6? I have always tried to respond sensibly to the questions, whether by mail or here in the comments. (Please write me such questions better in the comments, because then all have some of the answers!) However, I have decided to write a separate post in which I would like to gather some basic thoughts on the camera purchase.

First of all I want to list some criteria that could play a role for you, before I will give my wise advice. So, what things play a role in choosing the right person for you photo equipment? The following list is not exhaustive and will appear in totally random order.

  • size and weight: Are you willing to carry much, or do you prefer something in your pocket?
  • money: How much are you willing to spend for your new camera? (And how much for the best lenses plus memory card, spare battery, bag, etc.)
  • resolution enough for you inevitable snapshots of the compact camera with 8 or 10 megapixels, or you need a digital SLR camera with 12 megapixels, or even the highest 24-megapixel resolution?
  • sensor format: Is a small digital camera chip, or should it be a Four Thirds sensor, or is essential at least an APS-C device ago, perhaps even the full-frame sensor or the medium format?
  • High ISO capabilities: Do you need really noise-free ISO 3200, or perhaps meet ISO 800 and a little post?
  • lenses: the focal length / light levels you need for your photos and what system you get it? Do you want convenient zoom or fixed focal length requested?
  • motives: What pictures do you want? How fast to move your images, or are they still even?
  • image products: What do you want to do with your photos? Do you want to print them or exposed at present? If so, how big? Or would you show it on the Internet or make a DVD show of it?
  • Features You Need's most innovative, the touch screen or face recognition, or would you even an older machine or one with fewer buttons and functions?
  • brand: Do you have a particular brand of camera, because one of your examples may have photographed it, or because you think that a particular company a dominant position or has a large selection of accessories?
  • Prestige: Do you need to feel that your new camera is special, perhaps even a status symbol, or is it you do not care that it is a mass product, which have many? Must it be a so-called "professional" device, or enough, the "Semi-Pro" - or "beginner" class?
  • design: Like the camera a certain appearance to most, or you can not shape and color of the device so important?
  • feel: How to feel your camera, if you do is in hand? Plastic is ok for you, or should the upper be more metal or leather? Which camera feels to the touch in the photo shop on well, who does not?
  • Software: How much do you want to edit your photos? Will you have jpegs or work with RAW quality?
  • reviews and buying recommendations: Does it make you a lot of fun for days to surf the Internet, to roll reviews, write forum posts about this and many prizes (new / used) to compare and speculate on the next perhaps newly released models, or you is all that annoying, and you just want to make only photos?
  • Durability Plan , You that you should accompany your new camera in the coming years, or could it be that you within a few months or no later than next summer again sell to try out a newer model or even a different brand because there may be technical innovations?
  • Personal development: Do you think you like to do with a "simple" camera, and then later when your photography skills are up to buy a "better" camera, or would you rather directly with a "great" enter model, not to limit yourself to in your development, at the risk that you get details on Ford's first or perhaps not at all know where you can develop yourself as a photographer at all?
  • etc. etc. etc. ..
Please take this list too seriously! We read so much about it in so many forums and everyone has a good tip is to buy what and why, or what is considered to be quite sure the "right" gets camera that fits into a ... Of the brand fetishists who fight each other to well above the insolence limit, even to mention. Well, but my final advice is quite different, even though I promised in my last test a particular camera very much.

Should I even re-enter again, or completely change the system, I would follow do, and I recommend it be any of you so that you may save much time and money:
  1. This is the most important: Set a time limit , when your decision is to be cast! It makes sense to actually exceed a period of one week to ten days, because more time is not necessarily a more meaningful information. Be consistent and tolerate no delay. Meet the decision and stick to it.
  2. within such time limits should look at you, make you want to which photos (people, animals, sports, macro, landscape, nude, etc.), and then if you have the photographers, whose photos you can find good, just ask what Camera and what lenses to use it. Alternatively, you can make of course also choose a specific camera and see if there is a photographer who makes this camera the photos you like. In the Internet there are enough visual examples and give real photographers, the information. Go in a photo shop and take hold of the cameras, but without buying anything right at the first visit.
  3. If you have taken your time out after the decision, then do not compromise everything! If you have not money enough, then save until you have it together. you purchase only the exact camera that you really like and you fun, and you want to have, because otherwise you'll always see you after this camera useless and only spend money for the "second choice", which you will sell it so soon, because it did not wish your camera! The same applies to the lenses.
  4. Nearly as important as the first point: set yourself a time period, how long you keep the camera and lenses in any case! And within this period then You get the most fun and the best pictures out of your equipment, as it gets. You have the camera and the lenses that you want to have and stay with you because you want to take pictures, and you will increase your photography skills more quickly and get better results than if you were constantly re-think what you could buy another camera or still camera which you can buy to have. At the end of the period you can then start again at point 1, if you want.
course I have not made it past the way I advise you here. I frittered away some money by too much back and forth. I have listened to the wrong recommendations. Sure, it also was fun, always trying out new equipment, but really pleased I was only temporarily, as when I bought myself for a long journey which was then quite newly released Nikon 18-200mm VR, although at the time an almost insane for me large sum of money it cost. But it was the lens, what I wanted, and I was happy with it on my long journey, and two whole years to come.

least since I last year on my trip to Namibia already implemented some of my wisdom. So I was very happy, even if the leave of Nikon fell hard. Most of the equipment from Namibia Safari is still in my possession and is used regularly. Meanwhile, I have, however, the Olympus E-30 against the Panasonic GF1, and then finally exchanged for the Olympus E-P1, to an even lighter and more compact equipment have. My time in which I present my photographic equipment will continue to use is, by the way today to just under a year. Sometimes he adds a more objective not to, but. So I made it for me at least.

The reason is that is that I would fall back more on the content side of photography, but because it finally comes to take good pictures, right? So please be very disappointed not to if it here in the near future is not one test after another. I hope you also like to look at my photos! But do not worry, I will of course continue to pass on tips on buying camera to camera settings and software and workflow, and also my opinion on newly released Cameras and lenses known to do. Just let me know in comments what you are interested.

Believe me: It's all about making a decision and sticking to your decision. Get your favorite camera and lens and then enjoy it and take photographs and forget everything else. I'm sure that your pictures will get better and better!

What Are Some Good Gay Dare Questions

Poll: MFT camera do you have?

The cat on the hot hood, Germany 2010

Update: The analysis of this survey and the new survey can be found here !

Although the last part of my test report on the Olympus E-P1 is still outstanding, namely the comparison with the Panasonic would GF1, I still start now before a new poll, to ask all of you involved! Thanks for your clicks. Although I had asked a similar question once before in my previous survey , but since then it has some new things under the sun: New cameras have been announced, such as the Panasonic G2 and G10, and many other reviews about MFT cameras have appeared .

The results of last poll I've shown here for you again. It is interesting to me that the vast majority of subscribers at that time, the Panasonic GF1 possessed or wanted to buy. This is not surprising, since the time available first two models PEN Olympus had no built-in flash, and also represented the Panasonic Pancake 20mm/F1.7 a huge incentive to buy the kit with the appropriate Pancake GF1. So I've also done back then, and I point again and again that this great Pancake major stimulus for me personally, the MFT-mind system. The second noteworthy point about this result seems to me that many of you wanted to wait for the test of PL1. I can well understand, for 500, - € are still a lot of money on such a camera. But since there now are some reviews of the PL1 and many here are positive, I would be very interested to see in my new poll, to what extent the image has changed.

At the last survey, I had to be taken the slightly larger cameras from Panasonic with built-in search at all, but now that the models are obviously well run and is still evolving, a direct comparison could be exciting. Perhaps some of you already have a whole system in which one of the "larger" cameras with the Pens or the GF1 combined as a second device? In any case, I have given you the opportunity to click on multiple answers to the account of the fact that many people today do have several cameras and schedules for the holidays is also a backup body to bring in a move occurring Defect is to be without a camera. I feel this way for very intelligent, and yes I have recommended it in my blog post about my Namibia camera equipment .

So vote diligently and posts like more details about your camera equipment in the comments. I am always excited to read your comments and I also give you tips and information on specific issues, if your me which places. Incidentally, although I can not tell where my next journey, but I will very likely be much more difficult terrain on foot and in the road, and I've thought about already, what equipment I will take: Maybe my PL1 and the E-620, because they are so nice and small and lightweight and require the same battery, and of course the MFT on FT-adapter to use all my lenses on both cameras FT. Although the Panasonic 20mm/F1.7 at the moment so firmly welded to my PL1 sits and this combination leaves my right hand little more ... But yes I need a backup! So, what is your plan, how will you equip yourself for the coming summer and the next holiday, which MFT camera did you or will you still buy? Have you noticed how

the cat looks to the right side of my blog? She's watching very closely Which cameras you're going to tick in the poll. Choose wisely ...!
